With the growth of open source comes the need for more conferences, meetups and hackathons – you name it! These events give community members the opportunity to interact face-to-face to solve problems, come up with new ideas, or even just to chat and get to know each other better. But, the question is – how do we get developers, users and contributors from open source communities to these events? In this session, we’ll learn useful tips and best practices on how to get attendees to your open source conferences and meetups. Karen will go over a 3-step process; how to setup your events, how to promote the events and “what to do after the events.” Event checklists will be provided to attendees to help with planning for successful open source events.
